15 March 2009 – The Gauteng Provincial Government through its association with Soccerex has set the ball rolling for South African-based companies to explore business opportunities in Brazil in the run-up to the 2014 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

South African based companies are offered the chance to explore \nbusiness opportunities that the run-up to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in \nBrazil can offer. This has been made possible through the Gauteng \nProvincial Government’s association with Soccerex. Prospect exist \nparticularly for companies currently involved in the 2010 FIFA World Cup\n preparations to export their expertise and skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gauteng \nEconomic Development Agency Marketing Head Barba Gaoganediwe expressed \nGauteng’s vision and drive in positioning the province as the home of \nsports and a leading player in international sporting affairs. “For us \nin Gauteng we are using sport as a channel for economic development and a\n new weapon to attract investors into our country,” explained \nGaoganediwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The platform is used to not only promote the coming \nFIFA Confederations Cup but also Soccerex business. This event also \nfeatures Brazil and will enable further business opportunities for South\n African companies and Gauteng based in particular. It makes perfect \nsense that the proactive approach to business development and 2010 \nmarketing and promotion feature compatriots in Brazil with the South \nAmerican country hosting the FIFA 2014 edition of the World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working\n together with various government departments, Tourism Authorities and \nofficial FIFA ticketing and hospitality service providers the Brazilians\n are ready to tap into the newly build expertise of the South Africans \nin terms of preparing for the soccer showpiece. With almost a similar \nsocial and logistical set-up Gauteng and South Africa in particular is \nin a pole position to activate these enormous opportunities offered for \ncountries of the South.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soccerex Chief Executive Duncan Ravie \nexpressed his delight that Gauteng has continued to associate with the \nbiggest soccer business gathering in the world. “We have had the most \nsuccessful two years of Soccerex history in Gauteng and we are about to \nhost the biggest and the last edition in November 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope \nGauteng will share it’s secrets in hosting such a spectacular show with \nBrazil and assist us to grow this brand to another level”, said Ravie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

South\n African companies will have an opportunity to showcase their offering \nand make the necessary contacts and impressions at the Soccerex Brasilia\n Forum in March 2009. Various 2010 host cities, telecommunications \ncompanies,\n events managers and players in the hospitality and waste management \nsectors have all indicated their desired to be part of the Brasilia \nSoccerex forum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
